Homelessness is defined as living in housing that is below the minimum standard or lacks secure tenure. People can be categorized as homeless if they are: living on the streets (primary homelessness); moving between temporary shelters, including houses of friends, family and emergency accommodation (secondary homelessness); living in private boarding houses without a private bathroom or security of tenure (tertiary homelessness).
There are 100 million people worldwide that are considered primary homeless according to recent UN survey. This shameful situation must terminate through a global effort that addresses the issue from the causes to the effects with policies, actions and plans to face and solve the problem on a permanent basis.
This competitions calls for proposals of different types, from social, technological, political, economical that can face the problem and solve it on a global basis while facing it locally with proper methods that can be different.
